Tracey Williams – textile designer
After graduating with a BA in 2010 I have taken part in a number of Textile Exhibitions which has led to teaching workshops locally.

I specialise in Surface Design and have a broad knowledge in art & design, hand embroidery, free motion machine stitching and knitted structures. Some examples of my designs can be viewed on the portfolio pages. I would welcome inquiries on teaching workshops or with regards to making site specific commissions.

Roads to Repetition
Initial inspiration for my final show piece came from aerial photographs of roads, leading to exploring repetition of journeys from which I extracted abstract marks. Further stitched images observe the complexity of human existence in a series of translucent layered images. The finished piece measures approx W 1m x L 1.4m x D 1.4m and was displayed on a metal curved frame as a multi-layered hanging. The vistas change as the viewer walks around the work and would be suitable for a corporate reception area. At the moment the frame is free hanging, although the format could be adapted to hang against a wall.
